NETWORK(S) IS KEY
About three months ago, I was contacted by Denise, who was looking for an energizer for the 73rd Annual General Meeting of FIN, the association for foundations and funds. What I didn't know at the time was that they had been referred to me by a former colleague from my bank, Siep Wijsenbeek.
After a pleasant introductory meeting at their office in The Hague and some catching up, we quickly discussed the desired format for the 73rd Annual General Meeting (AGM). Together with account manager Marie-Clair, we discussed the highlights and the intensive meetings of the past few months. One thing was clear: the AGM needed to liven things up, and for 15 minutes at a time. It was crucial that the more than 130 board members and directors in attendance also showed the necessary input and engagement, without us being able to do anything very proactive. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Under the inspiring leadership of five committee members and one board member, six rows of people, from back to front, wrote down their initial thoughts on the six principles of the FIN. These were then placed on a post-it note, with the ever-connecting basketball being passed from hand to hand.
