BMI end event
At the BMI Foundation, we've been looking forward to this fantastic final event for a year. Seven schools trained weekly to conclude the year in a fun, competitive way. This day is largely organized by the two graduating interns from the Sports and Exercise program: Keyon and Tristan.
Of course, every school wants to win the tournament and thus the cup. But the most important thing is participating. And because everyone is a winner just by participating, everyone receives a medal. Prizes are also awarded for the skills and shooting challenge, where the team has to achieve a good time. SB can win mini basketballs and sweat wipes. But the most important prize—besides the cup—is the sportsmanship trophy. The beauty of this is that all schools get to judge each other's sportsmanship. The school they enjoyed playing against the most receives 6 points, and the school they enjoyed least receives 1 point. This year's winner was a composite team. Early in the day, they had suffered setbacks and disappointment when they were unable to participate in the tournament due to a possible lack of participants. They were combined, and from the underdog position, they quickly formed a real team that worked together positively. Although they hadn't known each other until earlier in the day, they hugged after scoring. They were rightly nominated by all teams for the sportsmanship trophy.
