Green Giants

I was asked to design the season finale for the growing Green Giants basketball club in Leusden. It was a bit of a balancing act, as it coincided with the first day of Sneakerness, where I luckily had plenty of help. It was definitely worth it, as over 70 people, young and old, enthusiastically participated.

Upon arrival, I'm warmly welcomed and helped with all my gear. Immediately upon entering, the "fat balls" catch the attention of a few boys, who are soon dribbling away enthusiastically. Although I haven't warmed up, I immediately start with a freestyle basketball show, as the stands are packed with parents and older players still enjoying a barbecue. I have to laugh at the reactions of some of the children: "No way!" and "That's not real!!" They enthusiastically participate in the warm-up and the various game modes. I end the day in the cafeteria, where I strike up a conversation with a few basketball players under 19 who are eager to learn more about my passion and why I do what I do. Afterward, I head back to Sneakerness to end the day there.
