LED show and interaction at Centrista in Meppel

    Shows & Workshops

An evening where everything came together

On March 12, we drove to Meppel for a special business event hosted by Centrista. For me, this evening felt extra special. More than six months ago, I spoke to Gert-Jan on the phone about his desire to bring sports marketing and experience closer together. That first conversation stuck with me. Sometimes you feel immediately that an idea has potential, and this was one of them. Now the moment had arrived: the Centrista LED show was becoming a reality.

With 80 basketballs in the car, two blacklight lamps, and all glow-in-the-dark and LED materials carefully packed, the drive towards the Luxor Theater in Meppel began. That preparation alone gave energy. You know then: tonight something is going to happen that people won't soon forget.

Entry into Luxor Theater Meppel

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Gert-Jan and Albert-Jan, director of Luxor Theater Meppel. That made all the difference immediately. We were able to start the soundcheck and the final technical fine-tuning right away. I have performed on many stages and in many theaters, but a setting like this remains unique. In a cinema hall, with razor-sharp visuals in the background and sound that literally vibrates through your body, everything came together.

A dress rehearsal that already gave me goosebumps

Even before the audience was inside, you could already feel how powerful this setting was. The visuals, the music, and the LED suit were perfectly synchronized. When the video started and I walked in to the beat, I knew: this is exactly why an LED show at Centrista can make such an impact. Not just watching, but truly experiencing.

From show to real interaction

After the show and the applause, it was time for the substantive structure of the evening. First, a speaker addressed sports marketing, shirt sponsorship, and activations for major companies and football clubs. Afterwards, I got to lead the audience through the interactive session. And yes, naturally, a challenge couldn't be missing.

Getting 80 people moving

With 80 business guests in a cinema hall, finding the right energy always takes a bit of searching. But that is precisely where the strength lies. We broke the ice with a challenge, got the competition going, and immediately let participants experience how sport connects people. Afterward, they learned a few skills, such as a chest roll and a fake pass. Balance, collaboration, and sharing ideas were also covered.

There was a lot of laughter. Plenty of photos and videos were taken. And that is precisely what made it powerful: people weren't just watching, they were really participating. As a result, the Centrista LED show became more than just entertainment. It became a moment of connection, energy, and shared experience.

Why sports marketing only really works when you feel it

What this evening confirmed for me is that sports marketing only truly resonates when people can feel it. Not just through words or a presentation, but through action, rhythm, tension, and interaction. That half-hour interlude gave the evening new energy and showed how entertainment and content can reinforce each other.

At Showcase Basketball, these are exactly the moments we strive for: surprising, activating, and connecting people in a way that leaves a lasting impression. Last but not least, a special thank you to Albert Jan Vos for the amazing location, Robert Eenhoorn for his inspiring story, Frank Stout for the strong hosting, and Elroy Jansen for sharing his wonderful experiences. Together, you made this evening in Meppel extra special. We would also like to refer you to our collaboration partner and venue for this evening: Luxor Theater Meppel.

This evening in Meppel definitely left us wanting more. How would your audience react if sport, show, and interaction came together at your event?
