An evening full of interaction: Waddingsveen Sports Gala with Showcase Basketball

Before the gala, we worked with the organizers to ensure everything was perfectly arranged: from the right music to announcements. Upon arrival, we were treated to luxurious sandwiches, both halal and gluten-free – it's always nice to see everyone being taken into account. The school cafeteria had been transformed into a true sports gala, complete with grandstands and a stage worthy of an event. It immediately felt like a celebration to be there!

Showtime: applause, interaction and sporting highlights

After warm-ups and a sandwich, it was time for action. The new announcement, narrated by Vincent Krieger (Finrock), boomed through the speakers. My five-minute solo performance was rewarded with thunderous applause. Then it was a quick change, because just before the break, we were going to perform an interactive interlude together. A special moment was the nomination of Anouk from Bouncers – only 11 years old and already a top athlete! Proud to see her growth and that she took home the award for Bouncers and basketball.

During the interactive segment, various athletes were challenged to a reaction challenge. Hockey, basketball, and soccer were brought together on stage – ultimately, the soccer player won, but everyone felt like a winner. The highlight was spinning the ball on the microphone, with the audience cheering loudly. Even a korfball player managed to take home the grand prize! The finale: the audience divided into two, passing the ball like a snake, and teamwork taking center stage. It symbolizes how grassroots sports and grassroots support drive top performances.
