Working or interning at Showcase Basketball
At Showcase Basketball, everything revolves around growth. Not only that of the participants on the court, but also that of our own team. We believe that you learn the most by simply doing it. Attending events, teaching in the classroom, behind the scenes, and right in the middle of the action.
That is why our interns receive real responsibility, real projects, and real guidance. Every year, we see young talent come in and leave as a stronger version of themselves. Below, we introduce three of them to you. Each with their own story, but with that same SB energy.
Noel: from closing to building
Noel spent a period with us that was above all one thing: intensely educational. Professionally, but certainly personally as well. We gave him the space and the tools to develop, and he is now taking that growth with him towards his own entrepreneurship.
And he has seen it all. From training programs like KapotSterk and STAR to events such as Sneakerness. From workshops at basketball clubs to sessions at primary schools, secondary schools, and vocational colleges. Just a wealth of experience, in practice, with real people.
Let's be honest: there were also moments when he was feeling down. That is precisely when we pull you out of your comfort zone and challenge you to show your best side. That is how growth for Noel ceased to be theory and became something he truly felt. He completed his internship with pride and a big smile. Chapter closed, the next one is ready. And Noel? We will definitely be seeing him around.
Azra: hunger for growth and impact
Azra is 19, born in Rotterdam, and sports have been in her system her entire life. She played high-level soccer for years, until she stopped because she had a bigger goal in mind. As a third-year HALO student, she will officially start her Teamplayer internship at Showcase Basketball next year.
She met Galdino in 2024 through an MDT project. What stuck with her most at the time were the feedback and the sharp questions she received. It was a real eye-opener, because she realized: you don't just learn at school, but especially in practice.
Over the past few months, she has already been introduced to SB's way of working. And honestly? She is incredibly excited about it. Azra wants to be challenged, keep growing, and soon give as many people as possible a unique SB experience. She is going all out next season, and we can't wait.
Aymane: from executor to strategist
Aymane started in August, with a camera in hand and the idea that his internship would revolve primarily around beautiful content. Soon, he was at events like the Venture Games and international matches, and creating the flyers for the Arvin Slagter camp. The flow seemed to have been found.
But in early September, the realization hit. During a conversation with Galdino, it became clear that his assignment went far beyond shooting pictures. It involved a complete content strategy. Back to basics, in other words: the website, the product descriptions, and the shop. Aymane struggled, as communication was sometimes difficult. After a critical feedback session, he created a learning plan, and that became his turning point.
From that moment on, things changed. He not only learned to process feedback but also started innovating. He dove into AI and trained tools like Sintra for the perfect tone of voice and Flora for new visuals. Additionally, he optimized SEO, arranged EAN codes for Bol.com, and independently set up successful Black Friday campaigns that immediately resulted in more orders. From running events at Ahoy with the arcade machine to contributing strategically to partnerships during Sneakerness.
In this way, Aymane grew from someone who performs tasks into a strategist who makes an impact on results. He completed his internship with an 8,9 and is now building his career at SB via Special Balls. As the icing on the cake, he made this summary video of his internship himself.
